Kim Slender (Registered Psychologist, Masters of Couple and Family Therapy).
Kim Slender is a qualified registered Psychologist and Family Therapist with over 25 years of clinical experience. She has a Bachelor of Arts Honours (Psychology), a Postgraduate Diploma (Counselling), a Masters (Couple and Family Therapy), and is a PhD Candidate (researching the mechanisms of the transmission of intergenerational trauma).
For 18 years Kim was the psychologist at a private school in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Kim has worked with young people and their families on a range of issues including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, and stress management. She is an accredited Mindfulness trainer and has developed whole school Positive Psychology and wellbeing programs.
Kim works on the Professional workshop program for the Sydney Jewish Museum.
Kim uses a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema therapy, Family systems therapy and neuro-psycho education.
Kim is a warm and empathic psychologist who quickly establishes rapport and connection with her clients. She works with adolescents, young adults, adults, families and couples to help them navigate the difficulties that they are currently dealing with.
